The Art Gallery of Hamilton is looking to welcome a Coordinator, Education to join the Programming & Education team.  

The Coordinator, Education provides administrative and operational support for the many of the Gallery’s core educational and public programs. This role will be responsible for the logistics, including registration and scheduling, required for AGH School programs, wellness activities, studio programs and more.  They will oversee the execution of the AGH Camp program and both adult and youth studio programs. As an important member of the Programming team, this position will join us in further developing a responsive and socially-minded collection of activities for all ages and abilities. The Coordinator, Education will work closely and collaboratively with the entire Programs and Education team as well as the artist instructors and volunteer docents.

This is an entry-level position requiring a least two years of working experience or equivalent education in visual art, cultural or studio work combined with administrative experience, preferably in the not-for-profit and/or cultural sector.   The successful candidate will have strong customer service skills and has the ability to interact and talk about art with everyone. Organization, time management, and the ability to balance multiple tasks are essential to this role and virtual presentation skills combined with experience hosting on-line events are an asset.   Experience using Microsoft platforms, including Teams and SharePoint, and e-Register is preferred. Ideally, we are seeking someone who is creative, passionate about the arts and has a demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion.

The role is a 1-year contract, based on full-time hours (35 hours per week) and will require occasional evenings and weekend commitments.  Salary range for this role will be between $35,000 and $38,000.
